Uvasys is available as a DUAL RELEASE sheet – both a fast release first stage to kill active Botrytis fungal spores combined with a second stage with a prolonged and controlled, continuous, protective low dose (for up to four months) to prevent dormant spores from germinating – all in one sheet.
Uvasys is available as a SLOW RELEASE sheet – with only a slow release second stage to protect your product for months – suitable for packers who prefer to pre-gas their grapes.
In the Uvasys sheet – unlike paper generators – the active ingredient is encapsulated in a wax matrix between two thin plastic films, rather than loose in separate sachets – better distribution, better safety.
Uvasys has a more even distribution of SO2 in the grape carton – ensuring better protection of your table grapes.
Packers of the end product are never exposed to high levels of SO2 gas.
The Uvasys sheet need not be removed from the carton 24 to 48 hours before display at the supermarket, but can be removed immediately before going on the shelf.
Uvasys has been designed to emit a constant low emission of sulphur dioxide which results in extended protection with minimal (if any) bleaching.
Uvasys does not emit sudden large bursts of gas if temperatures fluctuate during storage and transportation – other types of sheet do.
An inert non-woven layer adheres to the underside of the Uvasys sheet to act as a barrier between the grapes and the chemical in the sheet – giving better protection to the grapes.
Uvasys were the first sheets designed to fit the dimensions of the grape carton, with the result that there is even distribution of gas throughout the carton. This offers superior decay control.
The Uvasys sheet has Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration.
Uvasys is manufactured in a BRC certified facility, the first sulphur dioxide generating sheet to receive this standard
Using a Uvasys sheet ensures safety, as chemicals cannot spill out of the sheet if it is accidentally damaged.
Uvasys is supplied in varying strengths to suit conditions and table grape cultivars.
Uvasys is supplied anywhere in the world through a network of distributors and agents.
Residual levels of sulphite in grapes are always low: <10ppm.

If stored correctly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, Uvasys sheets can remain active for longer than 2 years. We do however recommend re-evaluation of the sheet before using, after storage periods longer than 2 years from manufacturing date.
